Kris Aquino, James Yap watch 'Paano Na Kaya?' together

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino and James Yap attended the star-studded premiere night of Star Cinema’s “Paano Na Kaya?” at SM Megamall Tuesday.

It was believed to be their first public appearance together ever since their much talked about rift. Aquino and Yap brought along their 2-year-old son, James Yap Jr.

Aquino was all praises for the film, saying that the whole family can watch it.

"Ang bongga dito. Kaya namin nakasama si baby James because it's General Patronage, meant for the entire family. At ‘yong family values na ibibigay nito at pagre-respeto sa magulang at pang-unawa at respeto ng magulang mararamdaman natin, and the reality of being a true friend," she said.

The Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB) has given the romantic-drama movie a “B” rating.

Aquino went to the premiere night to show her support to Kim Chiu, one of the lead stars of "Paano Na Kaya?" Chiu plays Aquino’s daughter in their ABS-CBN television series, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.”

Hundreds of screaming fans of Chiu and Gerald Anderson showed up at SM Megamall to watch the film and see the pair popularly known in the local show business as “Kimerald.”

"Thank you so much po sa lahat ng mga dumating at nanood," Chiu told the crowd.

Anderson added: "Sa mga Kimerald [fans], sana ay magustuhan ninyo ang movie."

Chiu was accompanied by her close friends and 2 sisters, while Anderson came with his parents.

Also spotted in the event were Angelica Panganiban, Carmen Soo, Maricar Reyes, Coco Martin, Jason Abalos, Gabby Concepcion, Jake Cuenca, Karylle and Jericho Rosales.

ABS-CBN bosses, headed by channel head Cory Vidanes, and Star Cinema's managing director Malou Santos graced the premiere night.

Storyline

Under the direction of Ruel S. Bayani, "Paano Na Kaya?" tells the story of Mae (Chiu), who is secretly in love with her best friend, Bogs (Anderson).

But their relationship turns complicated when Anderson's girlfriend, Anna (Melissa Ricks), breaks up with him. The separation sends Bogs into depression, and Mae comes to the rescue.

Mae thinks that the best way to save Bogs from self-destruction is by having a pseudo-relationship or "rebound relationship" with him.

Eventually the 2 fall in love, and from then on, they encounter the complexities or the intricacies of a "rebound relationship."

The cast members also include Cai Cortez, Janus del Prado, Empoy Marquez, IC Mendoza, Kian Kazemi, Bernard Palanca, Robi Domingo and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
