Gerald Anderson: The Graduate
| ( Stir ) 10.21.09Gerald Anderson is excited with his acting assignment in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” as lettersender Jerome Concepcion who is physically challenged with Tourette Syndrome. To be directed by Ruel Bayani, Gerald is also challenged to deliver a great acting job as he’s hungry for legitimacy as an actor. Symptoms are movements of a body part or vocal tics such as making sounds.
In a way, MMK has always been the springboard of teen actors graduating in mature roles. Like Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz before him, all young actors aspire to be launched in MMK as mature actors. They want to graduate from teen to adult actors in the longest running and multi-awarded drama series. Piolo had his baptism of fire in his memorable performance in “Piso” while John Lloyd’s performance as a skater with Celebral Palsy marked the course of his acting career.
Now Gerald. This overachiever at Star Magic was singled out to play Jerome’s role as it so happens they resemble each other. They are of the same age and body type. MMK has been looking for an acting to launch Gerald as a mature actor.
Jerome came to the meet-up lunch with Gerald, Ruel and MMK Creative Manager Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario with officers of Philippine Tourette Syndrome Association Rowena Victorino and Marlon Barnuevo. As they sat together for lunch, Gerald observed Jerome as if already doing research on the difficult role ahead of him.
Kaya mo yan GE, galingan mo ha, we are all here to support you. More projects are coming to both of you ( KIMERALD ) Improve your craft, and we observed, both of you have a good future in showbiz, just take care of your health and KIM also. Di ba yong wishes niyo before KIM said " That both of you will be "STRONG " to face the demand of what ever projects will be given to both of you. GE, the most important is to "PRAY" always and ask GOD's guidance in everything you do. With KIM beside you, were sure you can reach your goal. coz you compliment each other, you've gone a long, long way since your "KULITAN PBBTE Days". We missed all those days, treasure your "LOVE" for each other, work pressures and time should always be balance, remember, you only live once, and make the most of it. Take care of yourself amd KIM. We love you to the max. Stay Humble, we will all be here no matter what, as long as we see you both happy. GOD Bless KIMERALD !!!!!!!!
Goodluck with your MMK project, Ge. I know you will give justice to Jerome's character. Just stay focused. with Kim as your inspiration, you'll never go wrong :) Don't mind your detractors, they know that you've really come a long way and they just can't accept it. I second the suggestions some of your fans are giving you. Perhaps it'll help to do a little research on TS. I'm sure your knowledge of this illness will manifest onscreen somehow. Again, Goodluck!
