The top ten TV moments of 2009

2009 was a good year for couch potatoes. ABS-CBN and GMA-7 rewarded loyal fans with great TV shows that kept us on the edge of our seats. TV5 also offered high quality programs that shook up the dominance of the two big television networks.
Live coverage of historical events, like the funeral of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino, mesmerized TV viewers. The public also looked forward to Marian Rivera's first takeoff as Darna. Meanwhile, the unpredictability of live programs and taped reality shows glued us even more to the small screen.
Here are the top ten moments that made 2009 a great year for TV, in no particular order.

TAYONG DALAWA FINALE. Perhaps the soap opera of the year, Tayong Dalawa gained a steady following, due to its heavy drama and original story helmed by headwriter Arlene Tamayo and directors Ruel Bayani and Trina Dayrit. The finale, which was aired in September, even trended in Twitter last. Perhaps this is a cue to the TV networks: we want to watch original scripts, and not the rehash (again!) of that Caparas script or that hit koreanovela.
Hindi lamang sa Pinas pinagusapan ng bayan ang TD.
Even here in Canada, and i'm sure around the world, every filipino household and gatherings watched TD and that's when i got hooked on Kim and Gerald. It's the only soap that has made history in their generation...More power to ABS CBN and hope for more projects for KImerald. God bless
The Kimerald should be thanked by ABSCBN coz TD was patronised worldwide. Because of Kim and Gerald its been very popular with the support of powercast of actors and actresses and I hope the next one KTM will give importance to Kim and Gerald not the third party. Kimerald fans will be watchful of the storylines and I hope we will not be disappointed. They deserve to be recognised as serious actors by now. what made tayong dalawa a phenominal and unforgettable soap is due to KIM AND GERALD FOLLOWERS AND MOST SPECIALLY TO KIMERALDS.Ang fans nang loveteam na ito ay dumadami in leaps and bounds worldwide and of all ages. ABS-CBN owe it to us, fans the success of TD kasi ngayon alam nila ang Kimerald fans ay tapat, masigasig at hindi uurong sa laban lalo na para sa aming mga idolo.Sana matuto na ang ABS-CBN na KIMERALD loveteam and fans are forces to reckon with.Another point to make is that ABS-CBN should bear in mind na KIMERALD fans who are TFC subscribers here in abroad will never forget the heartache TD brought us so were hoping that they(The Management) have learned their lesson dahil we won't think twice to cut off our subscriptions kapag inulit nila dito sa bagong teleserye KTM.I know the casts of the teleserye is amazing but we want to make sure that Gerald and Kim will be given the same respect as with the veterans. I hope the story will really revolve around Robbie and Gwen this time and as promised no third party . To the management we are watching closely and do not think for a moment that we will just sit and relax if we sensed that another TD is in the making.We will always protect and fight for our idols . Happy New Year and I hope 2010 brings more projects for KIm and Gerald together.
all i can say is tayong dalawa was very well writtened, directed and acted by it's casts including kimerald it makes them a much better actor/actress congratulations kimerald and to tayong dalawa.
