Piolo & Kim Chiu: Big winners in Cinema One Viewer’s Choice
by Jude L. Bautista ( Manila Bulletin ) 12.05.09This year, Cinema One added a Viewer’s Choice classification of awards where fans got to text in their votes. This group of awards is different from the competing Cinema One Originals awards. Piolo Pascual was the runaway winner for the Sexiest Male star and also got a “Legend” award. While Angel Locsin won as the Sexiest Female star.
Kim Chiu on the other hand got the King and Queen title with love team Gerald Anderson. Kim also won the “It Girl” award which means that she is one of the “Stars of today who we predict will make it through 15 years.” The awards night was held recently at the Dolphy theater at ABS-CBN studios.
Piolo hosted the event with his “Kimmy Dora” Star Eugene Domingo. In his speech Piolo said, “Ten years pa lang ako sa showbiz. Mas matanda sa akin ang Cinema One at 15. I really appreciate the award.” Eugene Domingo was making jokes about not getting an award herself from Cinema One. Until Piolo as a consolation prize leaned towards her and kissed her on the lips. “Pwede na ba yon?” he asked. Eugene responded “Oo pwede na!” Best screenplay co-awardee John Iremil Teodoro (Wanted Border) exclaimed: “Di ko kailangan ng award! Mas kailangan ko si Piolo Pascual!”

I'm confident Gerald will also make it through the years. We already saw him in Tiagong Akyat and MMK aside from Tayong Dalawa. He's really good and getting better. PMPC also noticed his portrayal of Keeno in My Only Hope.
