Kris Aquino reveals why she is impressed with Kim Chiu
by Bernie Franco ( ABS-CBN.com ) 12.28.09
Kris Aquino is all praises for Kim Chiu because of her professionalism on the set of their upcoming teleserye, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, where they play mother and daughter. “Ang nakita ko kay Kim, at 19, she is just so professional,” began Kris on The Buzz yesterday, December 27. “Hindi biro ang matatapos ka sa trabaho or shooting ng 4 in the morning tapos magre-report na kailangan fresh na fresh ka at alive ang utak mo sa teleserye at 9:30 or 10 in the morning and then all the way ‘yan until the next day,” the host-actress said about Kim.
Kris also recalled one time when Kim forgot her lines while the camera was rolling due to fatigue. “Well nahiya siya sa akin kasi may isang scene na parang nablangko siya. Sabi niya, ‘Sorry.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ano ba wala kang tulog.’ Tapos naligo nga siya para magising ang utak niya.”
Kris also added that aside from being professional, she admires Kim for being responsible. “Marunong siya talagang mag-alaga sa mga kapatid niya. Halos lahat napagtapos na niya ng college. She takes care of her grandmother and what I can see about her also is that she treats it like a job. That’s why the professionalism is there and that’s why you know she really has a long, long way to go,” Kris shared.
On the other hand, Kris' The Buzz co-host Ruffa Gutierrez said that since Kim is still new in the business, she is not yet burned out and still has the excitement for work, which serves to her advantage. Boy Abunda added that unlike Kim, some newcomers do not have the same kind of passion that the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner has. The King of Talk said that Kim and fellow former housemate Gerald Anderson proved that they are talented actors, which is why they have gone a long way after their PBB stint. Boy admitted that he was not a fan of Gerald in the beginning although his mind changed when the Fil-Am actor proved himself as an actor through his teleseryes.
Meanwhile, Kris happily announced also in The Buzz yesterday that Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo will be shown a month earlier than intended due to insistent public demand. “One month early ang premiere (and it will be) on January (that is) three weeks from now, it’s January 18 and we promise you po buong-buo ang storya na ang ginagalawan 10 characters, pero you can feel the pain the anguish and also the fight in each one of the character,” Kris described.
