Tayong Dalawa's curtain call
Bot Glorioso ( PhilStar ) 09.18.09MANILA, Philippines - Even if televiewers look forward to watching ABS-CBN’s Tayong Dalawa night after night and episode to episode, the nine-month-old soap is coming to an end. Yet, there seems to be a lot of questions popping up as to how the story will wrap up.
When shall brothers Ramon (Coco Martin), JR (Gerald Anderson) and Dave (Jake Cuenca) come face-to-face to finally reconcile? Will Ramon soon feel the love of his mom Marlene (Cherry Pie Picache)? Will Audrey (Kim Chiu) find real happiness and peace with husband JR? Will Dave and Ingrid (Agot Isidro) complicate the situation? What will happen to Audrey’s aunt Angela (Jodi Santamaria) who was kidnapped by Nico’s (Ping Medina) group?
The answers are uncertain until the finale night next Friday, Sept. 25.
What’s definite are the good times the cast shared, the bonding moments among Jodi, Coco and Gerald during a set visit in one of their location tapings for the last few episodes of the show. They talk about an acting tip or two they got from co-stars Gina Pareño and Cherry Pie. The trio have also laid their mixed feelings of joy and sadness on the table.
“As the show nears its end, we are happy because we have kept viewers’ interest for nine months,” Jodi says. “And at the same time we are saddened because we will definitely miss each other.”
Jodi’s role as Aunt Angela has somehow brought her and Kim closer even offcam. Thus, talking about anything and everything under the sun is a breather for them during breaks.
”Kim is a very private person. We just talk about friends and work but not really on a personal note. I don’t give unsolicited advice except of course if Kim asks for it,” Jodi relates.
But her role as a supportive aunt reflects on how Jodi would come pronto to comfort her loved ones during troubled times.
“Definitely, I will be there for my friends or family. Karamay nila ko kahit saan,” Jodi relates.
That’s why she always checks on her family — especially on her son Thirdy — even if she’s at work. She, too, never forgets the value of education as she tries to do her assignments on the set during breaks. Jodi is a fourth year high school student at Southville International School. Hard work and determination, she says, are two things that enable her to do good in whatever she does either as an actress, a student or as a mom.
Coco, on the other hand, values everything he has learned from his co-stars especially Gina who plays Lola Getz in the show.
“I really admire Gina Pareño when it comes to her acting style, talagang lahat detalyado alam nya kung kelan tataas at bababa,” Coco shares. “She even teaches me what to do every time we have a scene together.”
That’s why Coco can’t help worrying when the cameras start grinding.
“I have my own style at sanay ako sa indie na basta kung ano ang maramdaman mo sa karakter yun ang bibigay mo,” he explains.
What lessons will his character Ramon impart to televiewers?
“As Ramon I represent the typical guy who wants to get his parents’ attention kaya nagseselos ako kay JR at nag-rebelde ako,” Coco replies. “Young ones should think that their parents love their children equally. Siguro maraming Ramon sa atin na ganun ang isip kaya nagrerebelde.”
Gerald agrees.
“The Filipino values clearly reflect in the story — yung pagmamahal sa pamilya, kapatid at paggalang sa kapwa,” Gerald says.
Thus, he finds his role similar to his ways as a son and brother who will do everything for them.
“Seventy-five percent of my being Gerald is displayed on the show, 25 percent lang ang akting dun kasi di malayo ang ugali ni JR as a Filipino guy,” he affirms.
And what he will miss most in the show?
“The three times a week taping days really got us closer. Surely, I will miss all the bonding moments, the mentoring days with direk Ruel (Bayani), Tita Gina and Miss Cherry Pie,” Gerald replies in his deep baritone.
“Yeah pati boses ko naiba na compared to early taping days. Sa nine months dami nag-bago,” Gerald quips.
A lot has really changed you Gerald, all for the best. Continue with the good values you learned as a Filipino-American boy and you will succeed in all your endeavours. Always, above all, be close to God, be true to yourself and those around you and we, your fans will always be here to support you and Kim. We always pray that the two of you will be together for reel and real forever. Hopefully, ABS management will value your tandem and give us more of Kimerald. WE NEVER TIRE WATCHING YOU AND KIM. Ohhhh ! we will missed this routine that we do evry night for 9 months. The kilig moments that we always want to see especially KIMERALD, We will missed you and we can't forget this teleserye, all of you had done a good job. TO KIM and GERALD, you have improve a lot in acting. Hope and pray that more projects will be coming for both of you. Always thank the LORD for giving this blessings to both of you. An ordinary girl and boy from PPBTE, kuya's house had gone a long long way. We watch your beginnings and naiyak ako remembering all those happenings when you are just entering Kuya's house, hindi nasayang ang VOTE ko for KIM. At that time, feel ko, doon nagsimula ang friendship ng dalawa. Since KIM is always happy when GE is around, compared to the 2nd winner. In the beginning si GE parang wala lang, siguro nadevelop, since KIM is really a lovable girl, even us, seeing her only on T.V., we feel what she really wanted in life. Beginning from audition. Now, you have rich your fame, we have been there since the beginning, we salute for being humble and staying your feet on the ground. How you made your fans happy and we thank you for that. Next, what we wish and ou prayers for both of you, more projects and don't be affected by the showbiz world, both of you have the looks and temptations are always there especially for GERALD don't make her cry,as of now, we know you love each other, when the right time comes,both of you are ready to have a lifetime commitment, and we will support both of you all the way,kahit mga MOMMY at Daddy na kayo. For Gerald, now that lots of girls & gays are swooning about looking at you & your body, I hope & pray that you don't get tempted to try and go astray. You better be very very careful, specially with the technologies of today, somebody might blackmail you. Well, with all the hidden cameras, cellphones and anything that
could plant evidence against you. Hope you haven't forgotten what Shy did when she posted all those pics of you & her in the web. Just warning you...Pls stay away from temptations and be strong willed & stay focused.
GE, pray a lot, be careful, stay away from something that will give you a BAD IMAGE, we know your a good boy and focus on what is positive on your career as well balance your life, between work and love life ( KIM will inspire you to do more projects coz its for your future )Kung walang love life at your age, boring din di ba ??? Have an open communication always esp. if your tapings and schedules are not together. Give also time for her, both of you are homebody, we appreciate your date with her you've done it at home, exclusive and vey sweet.We are so Kilig. PLEASE DO FIND THEM GOOD MATERIALS AND NOT QUICKIE, PA-CUTE ONES THAT WILL JUST WASTE THESE TWO ACTORS' FINE TALENTS. THEY DESERVE IT BECAUSE THEY BOTH WORK VERY HARD AND ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT THEY DO. I second the motion. Pls ABS-CBN- TFC, we're begging, don't let us wait too long to see them again. We're always yearning to watch them, whether it be screen, movie, ASAP, mag or anything, just to have an update on what they're doing. Yesterday, I already missed them in ASAP. It was a replay.
Pls heed our request. I'm here in Florida, USA and pls don't make our summer nights longer.
