Kim Chiu on Kris Aquino: ‘Sobrang galing niya umarte!’

The audience at the Kapamilya trade event in Subic last November 19 was impressed by Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson’s sexy dance number, which was similar to what they did during the recent Star Magic concert at Araneta. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com, the young actress was glad that she and Gerald were able to pull it off without a glitch. “Ako na yung ‘Tapon Queen’ ngayon, charing! Natutunan ko yung steps kay teacher (Georcelle Dapat). Una kinakabahan talaga kami lalo na sa backstage, sigaw ako ng sigaw para hindi ako matense. Si Gerald nanginginig-nginig pa siya ng konti. Sabi ko, ‘Oh no! ’Wag ka manginginig, mahuhulog ako.’ Natuwa naman yung audience kasi tapon kung tapon at buhat kung buhat ako ni Gerald,” she beamed.

Her upcoming soap Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo also got a positive response from the audience when all of the cast members went onstage during the show’s finale. Taping for the show started a day before the ABS-CBN Trade Launch. When asked about how it went, Kim was all praises for co-star Kris Aquino who plays her mother in the story. “Sobrang naninibago ako dahil siyempre iba yung character ko dito kaya nangangapa pa ako. And nakasama ko na din at last siAte Kris (Aquino), lahat ng eksena magkasama kami. Sobrang galing niya! Nadiscover ko na hindi lang siya magaling maghosting, pati rin talaga sa pag-arte.” she happily shared.

It became general knowledge how excited Kris was to be working with “the number one young star in the country to date.” Kim in turn felt flattered especially because Kris often mentions how much she likes her on the latter’s show SNN. “Oo nga, nung one time nagtext ako sa kanya, sobrang nahiya ako kasi binasa niya yun ng buong-buo. But of course flattered naman ako and kinakabahan nung una kasi siyempre kailangan kong galingan kasi malaki ang expectations niya sa akin. Pero enjoy naman at tuloy-tuloy na yung taping namin ng M-W-F.”

As for her other co-stars like Coco Martin and Gina Pareño, Kim shared how different their roles would be from the ones they portrayed in Tayong Dalawa. “Si Coco yung kuya ko tapos si Tita Gina naman yung lola ko. Ibang world siya kasi dito same house kami. Sabi nga ni Coco sa akin, ‘Parang nakakapanibago kasi sa Tayong Dalawa pinapatay kita, kinikidnap kita, ngayon ang bait-bait ko sa ’yo,’” she added with a laugh.

Since she’s also busy shooting the movie Paano Na Kaya? with Gerald, Kim admitted that she sometimes gets confused with the characters she has to play on the set. “Medyo nalilito ako sa character kasi yung isa sobrang happy-go-lucky, yung isa naman sobrang sungit. Kaya ako napapaisip, anong gagawin ko at anong araw ba ngayon? Pero nageenjoy akong gawin yung movie kasi sobrang gaan katrabaho lahat ng nasa set so sana positive yung aura ng movie hanggang next year.”

Kim also let us in on the surprise she has in store for the Kimerald fans. “Yung character ko na may pagkanerdy, magtatransform siya kasi mai-in love siya with someone. Basta abangan na lang nila kung bakit siya magtatransform. Tatanggalin niya yung eyeglass niya at magpapaganda siya ng bonggang-bongga,” she stated.
