Kim Chiu – 2009 AccessPinoy Kapamilya Queen of Primetime, Walang Duda!

After amassing more than 56,000 votes from a poll made by AccessPinoy to determine the 2009 Kapamilya Queen of Primetime title, Kim Chiu is the runaway winner among a group of 9 equally talented ladies of ABS-CBN. Her closest competitor, Angel Locsin, only managed to accumulate close to eight thousand votes, while KC Concepcion, only garnered more than three thousand votes. For Kim Chiu, that’s a whopping 73% of all votes cast totaling more than 78,000.

While not an absolute gauge of popularity, our poll underscores Kim Chiu’s throngs of fans ready and able to vote for their idol, day-in and day-out. These will be the same fans who’d definitely support Kim in all her battles, including the one she’s embroiled in right now – with supporters of another teen sensation, Sarah Geronimo.

From the result of this poll, we can deduce the following observations about Kim:

Walang dudang pwede nang makipagsabayan ni Kim sa mga talents ng ABS-CBN, at talagang mangingibabaw ito against any one of them. She’s definitely a force to reckon now in Pinoy entertainment, having proven herself in the teleseryes ‘My Girl,’ and the recently-concluded ‘Tayong Dalawa.’ In fact, TD was a huge success (ratings-wise) for the Kapamilya network, which consistently scored great ratings nationwide, and even beat ‘Darna’ in Mega Manila according to results provided by AGB.

Walang dudang pinagkakatiwalaan si Kim ng ABS-CBN. After TD, may kasunod agad siyang project, still with Gerald Anderson, ang ‘Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.’ That’s very important to note considering that other contract stars of ABS-CBN need to wait for a couple of months, even a year, to get projects. Ika nga, Kim is never one of those “frozen delights” inside the ABS-CBN ward.

Walang dudang nagma-mature na si Kim in her acting. Sobrang nahasa na siya (although sometimes, naroon pa rin ang parang “ipit” na boses niya when doing heavy drama scenes), kaya Star Cinema is betting on her, with their MMFF entry come December 2009 in ‘I Love You, Goodbye’ starring opposite Gabby Concepcion, Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsey.

Walang dudang marami ring advertisers ang nagtitiwala kay Kim. Dumarami ang kanyang mga commercials, an indication na talagang may hatak siya sa masa.

Kim has become ABS-CBN’s counter to the popularity of Marian Rivera, the Wilma Galvante-proclaimed “Kapuso Queen of Primetime.” But Kim mustn’t rely too much on her loveteam with Gerald Anderson. Dapat ma-carry niya ang sarili without the benefit of a loveteam. Only then, shall she be able to contend as the Top Leading Lady of Pinoy Entertainment, awarded by AccessPinoy this year to Angel Locsin – dahil kahit sino at saan mo ilagay si Angel, pwede!
