“From the very beginning, it has always been a Gerald-Kim project. We were very definite from the beginning. My God, how many many endorsements does this couple have at the moment? How many advertisers are waiting for this chance to see them again on primetime and are promising us their full support?

Alyanna who?

"I’ll be playing Julian in the teleserye and since Julian is supposedly 23 years old sa series and already a corporate man, malaking adjustments ang dapat gawin ko about myself para maging kapani-paniwala ako sa aking role. I just turned 19 last March 7,” say pa ni Gerald.

Kimerald visits 'the lost Boy' of Philippine showbiz
Boy villasanta ( ABS-CBN News Online ) 03.28.08

He's all but forgotten in the world of showbusiness and the larger world outside of the silver screen and the boob tube. After all, who today remembers the line producer behind immortal films like "Bayan Ko, Kapit Sa Patalim" and "Orapronobis"? Do people still remember him as a former president of the Philippine Movie Press and the former public relations officer and manager of Nora Aunor, Lino Brocka, Phillip Salvador, Hilda Koronel, Alma Moreno, Christopher de Leon, Carmi Martin, Tessie Tomas, Helen Vela and Coney Reyes, among others.

Filipinos today, of course, only have one Boy in mind when it comes of Philippine showbiz: Boy Abunda, proudly Samar born and bred, head honcho of the talent management company Backroom, Inc. and now talk show host and celebrity endorser.

There was a time, however, during the 1970s and 1980s, when the Boy of local showbiz was Boy C. de Guia. De Guia started out as a member of the entertainment press but became more involved as a producer, talent manager and talk show host.

Today, de Guia is a resident of the Golden Acres Home for the Aged. He's all alone now, just another toothless, penniless old man who relies on charity to live out his last days on Earth.

Showbusiness loves winners and forgets losers--it glories in youth, beauty, sex and fame and automatically shuns sad stories. So it's no wonder that after de Guia went bankrupt after losing millions of pesos in failed television productions during the 1990s, he fell through the cracks, as they say, and no one bothered to remember him again.

Homeless and reduced to a pauper, de Guia found his way to the Golden Acres. No one knows or seems to care that he once hosted the top-rating entertainment talk show "Scoop" with Lolit Solis in Channel 13. He hosted other programs like "CinemaScoop" in Channel 2 and spent his own money producing "Starwatch" and "StarBrighters" on Channel 4 (Lesson: Spend other people's money on your TV productions).

De Guia was also happy that two of todays hottest stars, the romantic tandem of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, also paid him a visit. The showbiz teen couple, who almost never leave each other's side, have become so identified with one another that their fans have given them a collective identity as "Kimerald"--yes, in the same tradition that turned out Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) or Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner).

Kimerald went to the Golden Acres as part of the socio-civic efforts they usually do during Holy Week (something that the couple, admirably, does not brag about) and were shocked at finding out that de Guia--formerly one of the brightest names in showbiz--is one of the lolos (old men) in the old folks' home.

De Guia told the teen couple that, as past president of the PMPC, he was one of those who voted for them as Best New Male and Best New Female Movie Personalities.

(Kim is so beautiful and Gerald is handsome. They will surely last in show biz)," predicted the former starmaker.

Kim Chiu believes na kahit pa from among the new female housemates na kasalukuyang inaalagaan ni Big Brother sa kanyang house ay may magkapalad na maging artista, hindi pa rin siya pababayaan ng ABS- CBN.

Ang feeling nga ni Kim, the network has given her more than enough.

In between those assignments, may commercials pa courtesy ng kanyang management company, Star Magic.

So far, nakagawa na si Kim ng dalawang movies, First Day High at I've Fallen for You. In both films, she had fellow PBB housemate Gerald Anderson, who placed second to her, as leading man.

Kim is excited to start work on her newest teleserye, My Girl, an adaptation of a Koreanovela na ipinalabas dito sa Pilipinas last year.

Ayon kay Kim, until it was announced during a presscon for her and Yeng Constantino, Grand Winner ng Pinoy Dream Academy, she didn't have a hunch that she will be handpicked for My Girl’s female lead role.

Well, at the presscon naman for Gerald, her leading man in My Girl, a smiling Kim surprised the actor with her presence.

They happen to be together, too, in the horror series, Maligno, with Claudine Barretto.

Gerald Anderson

From being one of the original Pinoy Big Brother Teen housemates to being one of the most in demand actors today, Gerald Anderson has gone a long way in the business. This 19-year-old mestizo from General Santos can boast of a number of accomplishments. Aside from Asap ’08, he was also seen in several projects with Kim Chiu namely Sana Maulit Muli, First Day High and I’ve Fallen For You. He also has dance albums which were consistent in the hit charts. Gerald is also thankful for the recognition given to him by several award-giving bodies. He was named Best New TV Male Personality in 2007’s Star Awards and Guillermo Memorial’s Most Popular Loveteam of 2007. A follow-up TV project with Kim is coming up with Maligno and My Girl. This year is one of the best birthdays for Gerald as he celebrated with the Kimerald fans with cancer patients. The Kimerald BAO also treated Gerald for a surprise dinner party. Gerald can’t ask for more and remain humble for all his achievements. Bench endorser Gerald will soon be seen in two more TV commercials very soon. He celebrated his birthday on March 7.

Does this mean that Gerald won't be the leading actor in "My Girl"??????
