Gerald denies rumor that he has a non-showbiz girlfriend

Sa kabila ng consistent na mga pahayag ni Gerald Anderson na wala siyang ibang nagugustuhan kundi ang kapareha lang na si Kim Chui, may kumakalat na balita na may 15-year-old non-showbiz girlfriend na raw ang young actor na nagngangalang Alyanna Tan.

Ayon pa sa balita, namataan daw na nagbabantay si Alyanna sa set ng Maligno, ang bagong horror series ng ABS-CBN na pinagbibidahan ni Claudine Barretto kung saan kasama rin sina Gerald at Kim. Nakita pa nga raw na sinakay ni Gerald sa van niya ang sinasabing non-showbiz girlfriend niya pagkatapos siya nitong bantayan sa taping.

Pero pinabulaanan ni Gerald ang balitang ito sa panayam sa kanya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal).

"Wala talaga, wala sa isip ko ‘yon," tanggi ng binata. "If ever man na magkakaroon ako ng girlfriend, sana si Kim na. I heard about that issue na sinakay ko nga raw sa van ko galing sa taping ng Maligno. Wala akong matandaan na ganung incident na nangyari. Saka anong oras na ba natatapos ang taping namin sa Maligno? Halos madaling-araw kung hindi man kinabukasan na."

EMPRESS SHUCK. Kung hindi raw totoo ang tungkol sa kanila ni Alyanna Tan, may naniniwala naman na ang totoong girlfriend ni Gerald ay ang young actress na si Empress Shuck. Muli, itinanggi ito ng young actor.

"Magkasama kami sa workshop. Magkaibigan kami, pero wala talaga. We're just good friends," sabi ni Gerald.

Kuwento pa niya, "Nagka-issue kasi ‘yan nung pumunta ako sa taping ng Game KNB? because contestant si Mikee [Lee, Gerald's ex-housemate in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition]. Tinanong si Empress ni Edu [Manzano, host of Game KNB?] kung sino yung pumupunta at nagbabantay sa kanya sa taping. Nagkataon pumasok ako. Then, nag-pan sa akin yung camera kaya akala ng tao, ako. Actually si Chapy yun, yung lagi kong kasama."

KIM CHIU. Wala pa ring pagbabago sa pahayag ni Gerald na special para sa kanya si Kim, pero hanggang ngayon ay magkaibigan pa rin silang dalawa. Bakit hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin nila tinototoo ang kanilang relasyon?

"Hindi naman kasi kami nagmamadali," sagot ng binata. "Mahaba pa ang panahon na pagsasamahan namin ni Kim. As of now, we want to focus on our work and career. Special talaga sa akin si Kim. Basta ang importante, masaya kami nang ganito."

GERALD'S MANAGER. Sa ibang balita, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin mamatay-matay ang issue na wala na raw talaga si Gerald sa poder ng kanyang manager na si Jun Reyes—dati ring manager ni Joross Gamboa. Binili na raw kasi ng Star Magic ang kontrata niya kay Jun sa halagang 500,000 pesos. Totoo ba ito?

"Siya pa rin ang manager ko," paglilinaw ni Gerald. "Wala akong balak na palitan siya. Kuntento ako sa kanya at alam ko na kung hindi dahil sa kanya, wala ko dito [sa showbiz]."

BIRTHDAY BOY. Gerald is celebrating his 19th birthday today, March 7. Ibinahagi niya sa PEP ang kanyang birthday wishes: "Sana tuluy-tuloy yung projects. Good health for me and my family. Sana nandiyan pa rin yung mga true friends ko. Sana panoorin at suportahan nila ang Maligno."

Kim Chiu is “My Girl”

Kim Chiu got a shock when she discovered that she had landed the lead role in the local version of the hit Koreanovela My Girl during the Dream Big Kapamilya press con. It was the first time that the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner learned about her new project and she even cried upon hearing the good news. “Ang saya, ang saya!” she said while wiping away the tears. “Nagjo-joke ba kayo?”

ABS-CBN has secured the franchise of the said drama from SBS Korea and has pegged Kim to play the main character, Jasmin. “Sobrang thank you po sa lahat. Thank you po sa fans, sa ABS-CBN…it’s another wish granted,” Kim said, clapping her hands giddily. Though her leading man for the teleserye has yet to be cast, the young star hopes that her ka-love team Gerald Anderson would get the part. “Siyempre po gusto ko siya. Tsaka ma-sasad po ang mga Kimerald,” referring to their tandem’s avid followers. “Super love nila kaming dalawa, kaya di nga po namin alam kung paano sila masusuklian.” Is she sure the fans are the only reason why she picked Gerald? Kim could only giggle in answer to this pressing question from the reporters.

Coincidentally, Gerald’s birthday fell on the same day as the press con (March 7) so reporters pressed Kim into revealing what she got him. “Wakeboard po,” Kim confessed adding, “Pero nabili ko po ng may discount!” when the press teased that only girlfriends would give expensive gifts to their boyfriends.

With her debut coming this April, what does she think Gerald’s gift for her would be? “Hindi naman po importante yung gift.” Kim said with a shy smile. Though she is still clueless on the details of her party (which Star Magic is arranging for her) Kim was asked to choose her 18 roses line-up. “Of course daddy ko po,” naming her dad William for the first dance. Kim giggled non-stop when the all important last dance was mentioned. Who will get the meaningful spot? “Si Gerald.” she finally answered. So does turning 18 mean she can finally have a boyfriend (translation; Gerald)? “Pwede na po siguro,” she confessed, smiling sheepishly.

Busy with out of town shows and tapings for the drama Maligno with Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, and Rafael Rosell, Kim does not feel threatened at all with Kuya opening his house to a batch of new teens. In fact, she will be even present during the PBB Teen Edition Plus launch on the 23rd. “Lahat ng tao may chance sa buhay, ako po din nabigyan ng chance. Kanya kanyang chance po naman.” Kim only advises the new housemates to stay true to themselves once they enter the house. “Maging totoo po sila, maging natural lang at mamahalin na sila ng tao.”
