Kim Chiu talks on competing vs Sarah G

MANILA - Young actress Kim Chiu said on Thursday that there's no war between her and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo on product endorsements nor over actor Gerald Anderson.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com on Thursday during the launching of Chiu's latest product endorsement, Payless Pancit Shanghai, Chiu said she and Geronimo are just doing their jobs.

Competition between the two surfaced as the two stars have been endorsing many products. Chiu, who just turned 19 last April, now has more than 20 endorsements.

"Kami ni Sarah, kahit sa amin wala naman ‘yon, and magkaibigan pa din kami. At kung pinagko-compete kami sa endorsements, siyempre nasa company 'yon kung ano ang binibigay nila sa amin. At thankful kami sa lahat ng nangyayaring success," Chiu said.

Aside from endorsements, both are perceived to be in stiff competition since reports say Chiu's leading man, Gerald Anderson, will be paired up with Geronimo for a film.

Chiu said that if the film pushes through, she will just be there to support the new big-screen tandem.

"Wala pa naman silang project, at kung mayroon man ay susuportahan ko sila," she said.

'No film with Kris Aquino'

Dubbed as ABS-CBN's Primetime Princess, Chiu kept her silence about her upcoming film with actress-host Kris Aquino.

Reports said Chiu will be part of the film whose working title is "Ikaw Na Nga."

Aquiino backed out of the project through a letter she sent to Star Cinema.

In a statement on Wednesday over her entertainment show "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon" with co-host Boy Abunda, Kris said she already sent a letter to Star Cinema explaining why she can't do the film.

"Unfortunately because of our family circumstances now hindi ko pwedeng gawin iyong pelikula na sana ay kasama ako for the festival. Iyon. Things happen. So sana there will be another opportunity in the future," Kris said.

Kris, together with her family, is busy looking after Mrs. Aquino, who is still confined at the Makati Medical Center due to colon cancer.

In response to Kris' decision and to her mother's condition, Chiu said: "Sana mag-pray lang siya lagi dahil lahat ng nangyayari ay God's will. Lahat ng ginagawa niya ay ginagawa niya 'yon para maging stronger tayo, stronger as person kasi hindi laging masaya siyempre may trials din para mas maging malakas tayo," Chiu said.
