Ramon Revilla Sr. to the Agimat boys: 'Very expensive ang mag-chicks!'
Rachelle Siazon ( ABS-CBN Interactive ) 07.16.09
The stars of Agimat, Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla—Gerald Anderson, Jake Cuenca, Coco Martin, and Jolo Revilla—met with former senator Ramon Revilla Sr. at the Revilla mansion in Cavite last July 14. ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, who also attended the lunch meeting, urged the young stars to ask the legendary action star about the secrets to his success in showbiz, politics, and family life, but Gerald, Jake, and Coco couldn’t get over being star-struck. As the elder Revilla’s grandson, Jolo was the only one left unaffected by talking with his grandfather.
Kasi at 82-years old makikita mo yung tikas at saka talino nandudun pa rin sa kanya. At saka gusto naming malaman kung paano [makuha] yung agimat sa chicks,” Coco said in jest. The three had been talking about Ramon Sr.’s well-known appeal to women on the way to Cavite and they wanted to know how the action star maintained his good looks.
On another note, Gerald interjected that there’s a great amount of pressure for them to meet people’s expectations in their upcoming series.
The action icon happily gave the younger stars some advice, including his number one tip to not become a certified womanizer like him. “Masaya buhay ko noon… Puro chicks! Sampu-sampo! Pero huwag niyong mamanahin! Very expensive!” he cheerfully related to the Agimat boys. He was once rumored to have had 81 children, but he later clarified that he only has 45 in all.
For someone who has also experienced working behind the scenes as a producer and scriptwriter for his own movies, the action legend warned Gerald, Jake, Coco, and Jolo how the entertainment industry can get turned off by people who let stardom get to them. “Dapat lagi kayong very prompt. Huwag maging mayabang.
After asking each of the young stars as to whom was going to play his characters Pepeng Agimat, Tonyong Bayawak, Tiagong Akyat, and Elias Paniki, Ramon Sr. gave them his blessing to recreate his roles soon on ABS-CBN. “Box office lahat ‘yan sa pelikula. Malaking bagay ‘yan. Lahat ‘yan sa akin nanggaling,” he proudly beamed.
