Kim Chiu excited over her 18th birthday celebration
"Nakakatuwa kasi yung costume a la Mano Po raw.
WISHING FOR MAMA'S RETURN.
Nine years old pa lang ako nung iwan niya ako. Ngayon, 19 na ako. Kaya ‘ayun."
"Imposible kasi siyang mangyari, e.
Bakit niya nasabing imposibleng mangyari?
COMING BACK TO CEBU. Nung huling guesting niya sa The Buzz last Sunday, tinanong siya ng guest co-host ng show na si Anne Curtis tungkol sa kanyang first kiss. Ni-reveal niya na natikman niya ang kanyang first kiss not from co-star Gerald Anderson, but from her ex-boyfriend back in Cebu.
"Si Gerald po, sa I've Fallen For You, kiniss niya ako. Offcam?
Nakita ba niya roon ang kanyang ex-boyfriend noong nag-tape na sila roon for her TV special?
"Kaya yung love life, huwag muna yun. Darating naman yung time na magkaka-baby. Magpapakasal muna, ganyan."
WHAT TO EXPECT ON HER DEBUT PARTY.
Ano, nakaka-touch nga kasi ginagawa nila ‘yon for the love lang."
What about her friends sa Cebu?
Debutante Kim wants pink car
Ethel Ramos ( Malaya ) 04.17.08Kim Chiu, grand winner of the first "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition," is turning 18 on April 19. The party, however, will be held on April 26 at The Glass Garden.
"My gosh," Kim gushed. "I cannot believe I’m having a grand party. Kasi plano ko talaga was to celebrate the occasion ng walang fanfare. Ganun naman ang mga elder sisters ko. Walang anything special na nagaganap on their 18th birthday.
"I’m so thankful talaga to Star Magic for honoring me with this party."
Star Magic, which handles Kim’s career, is the talent arm of ABS-CBN.
The debutante will wear a gown designed and executed by Francis Libiran. Food will be served by Hizon’s. The decoration of the venue will be handled by Lily Flower Boutique. Souvenir items will be courtesy of Charms and Crystals.
"My debut will be totally different, I am told, from the traditional coming-out party," said Kim. "Una, hindi ako magkakaroon ng 18 roses. There will neither be a dance number where 18 teens, including the debutante, will be participating."
Her escort will be perennial movie and TV partner Gerald Anderson.*******************************************************
We asked Kim what she wants as a birthday gift.
She smiled before answering: "Sana a car, a pink car."
Does she know how to drive?
"Yes," she quickly replied. "Minsan, kapag malapit lang ang pupuntahan ko, I usually ask my driver to allow me to drive. Kaya nga, right after my debut, I’d like to apply for a driver’s license."
From her earnings, Kim’s dad has brought her a Fortuner, which she uses to attend her commitments.
Kim, together with Gerald, will soon be seen in the horror series, "Maligno," topbilled by Claudine Barretto and Diether Ocampo. She and Gerald are also currently working on the localized version of the Korean televenovela, "My Girl."
Kim finds it difficult to act angry at her idol Claudine
"GERALD IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND."
Kim on her debut: Parang fairytale
( Journal Online ) 04.17.08As I take my stand and get ready to soar the vast sky, it would please me to have you by my side.” The very first PBB Teens grand winner is now a lady. ABS-CBN Star Magic jewel Kim Chiu celebrates her debut on April 26 at The Glass Garden in Santolan, Pasig.
The debut will be the main feature of the television special “My Girl Turns 18” which will be aired on May 4, Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN2. Her gowns for her pictorials and the debut are created by Francis Libiran. The sumptuous food will be catered by Hizon’s and the venue will be beautified by Lily Flower Boutique. Souvenirs will be from Charms and Crystals. She is very excited but at the same time, scared and a bit shy about her forthcoming celebration.
According to Kim, “Dati pinapanood ko lang sa TV ang mga debut ng mga artista at dreaming na ako ‘yon. Kaya naman this is really a dream come true for me. Para talagang fairy tale!”
Of course, Gerald Anderson will be her escort during the debut party. But she clarifies: “Hindi po ito traditional na debut party. Hip hop po ito,” she giggles. “Walang cotillion. Gusto ko naman po maiba.”
Her PBB Teens housemates will be there to celebrate with her. Of course, her whole family will support her on her special day. Will she invite her estranged mother?
“Wag na po natin siyang pag-usapan,” she pleads. “Masaya na po siya sa buhay niya.”
Kim will soon be seen on television in “Maligno.” She is very happy to be given a chance to work with Claudine Barretto. Her happiness soared to greater heights when she was surprised in a presscon where the announcement was made regarding her being the star of the localized version of the famous Korean telenovela “My Girl”. In both shows, she will still be teamed with Gerald Anderson.
For someone who has been in the industry for just a few years, Kim has quite a number of endorsements up her sleeve. She endorses Bench, Bantex, Jollibee, Whisper, PH Care, Natasha, Unisilver, Rejoice, Belo Medical Group, Close Up and Executive Optical. She is also being sponsored by Skechers USA, Skechers Time, Sheene, Monami Gel Pens, Advance Notebooks, Dr. Gan, Sepa Accessories, Charms and Crystals and ABS-CBN Interactive.
Dino Erece ( Journal Online ) 04.17.08
Hinahanda na si Kim Chiu ng ABS-CBN as the next leading lady.
Magbi-birthday si Kim this April 19. She’s turning 18 and the girl is now a lady. May isang fairy-tale motif party na inihanda ang Star Magic for her on April 26 sa The Glass Garden.
May 4, Sunday, right after PBB Teen Edition Plus.
So many good things coming her way. Magsisi-mula na ang Maligno, her first Sineserye Presents Susan Roces Collection kasama sina Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, Rafael Rosell and her partner Gerald Anderson.

ABS-CBN Star Magic jewel Kim Chiu will have her debut on April 26 at The Glass Garden. The affair will be the main feature of the TV special My Girl Turns 18 which is airing on May 4, Sunday, 9:30 p.m. Kim’s gowns for the pictorial and her debut were designed by Francis Libiran. Food will be catered by Hizon’s and the venue will be “beautified” by Lily Flower Boutique. Souvenirs are courtesy of Charms & Crystals. As she turns 18, Kim said she’s overwhelmed by all the blessings coming her way.
This is really a dream come true for me.
A “hip hop” debut for Kim
Edgar O. Cruz ( Yehey ) 04.16.08ABS-CBN Star Magic jewel Kim Chiu celebrates her debut on April 26 at The Glass Garden. She will be wearing Sketchers rubber shoes with her powder pink formal gown as designed by Francis Libiran. (Francis, BTW, designed Anne Curtis award-winning knee-length gown at the First Star Magic Ball.) And Kim is not the only one who’s doing the same but the Star Magic boys and girls (mostly housemates from “Pinoy Big Brother”) who will make up her entourage. There’s no Cotillion as Kim’s wanted. In its place, there will be a lot of current dances with Kim’s four brothers doing a special dance number. Her father and love tandem Gerald Anderson will be her last dance although Kim is not ready to say who among them will be the “last-last” dance.
According to Kim, “Dati pinapanood ko lang sa TV ang mga debut ng mga artista at dreaming na ako ‘yon. Kaya naman this is really a dream come true for me. Para talagang fairy tale!” She will be wearing two other dresses designed by Francis. The sumptuous food will be catered by Hizon’s and the venue will be beautified by Lily Flower Boutique. Souvenirs will be from Charms and Crystals. The debut will be the main feature of the television special “My Girl Turns 18” which will be aired by ABS-CBN on May 4, Sunday, at 9:30 p.m. It will also feature Kim’s return to Cebu last weekend when she traced her past, showing people and places important to her during pre-fame days.

Sana magparamdam ang nanay ko
Vinia Vivar ( Journal Online ) 04.16.08
Excited siya but at the same time, ninenerbyos dahil hindi akalaing mararanasan niya ang ganito karangyang debut.
Kaya naman this is really a dream come true for me. Parang fairy tale,” sabi niya.
As in, modern talaga, dahil naka-rubber shoes kami habang naka-gown. Tapos magsasayaw ’yung mga kapatid ko. Silang apat.
Matatandaang umalis ang nanay ni Kim when she was nine years old and since then, hindi na niya ito nakita. Wala rin daw silang balita rito and hindi rin niya sure if she’s still alive.
Kaya, paging Star Magic...
Anyway, ang bonggang debut ni Kim ay mapapanood sa ABS-CBN-2 on May 4, Sunday, 9:30 p.m., titled My Girl Turns 18.
Star Magic thanks Hizon’s catering, na siyang magke-cater ng food, Lily Flower Boutique para sa mga bulaklak na gagamitin, at Charms and Crystals for the souvenirs.
Vinia Vivar ( Journal Online ) 04.15.08
She’s celebrating her debut on April 19 at may inihahandang malaking party para sa kanya ang Star Magic.
Vinia Vivar ( Journal Online ) 04.14.08
Sabi nga ni Enchong, “Sina Kimerald (Kim at Gerald), super fun to work with, lalo na with the rest of the cast. ’Yung older cast, malapit na naming ma-meet. So, we’re really looking forward to it.”

Kim , still smarting from her first heartbreak, is hesitant about falling in love again, even with perennial partner Gerald
Ethel Ramos ( Malaya )Kim Chiu sets the record straight that she and Gerald Anderson are sweethearts. They’re not, not yet. In due time, they might become more than friends. Right now though, Kim says she has few male friends and she considers Gerald as one of her closest.
She is a bit careful about falling in love again. She was hurt before. It is common knowledge that before joining "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition," she had a boyfriend. But they broke up before she became a housemate in Bahay ni Kuya.
She was 14 at that time. Ten months after they became sweethearts, they split-up.
"Nasaktan ako sa break-up namin," she relates. "But I’d rather not divulge the real reason why we parted ways. Sa akin na lang ‘yun."
What would she remember most about the guy?
"He was my first kiss. Pero hindi ako nagsisisi kung nangyari man iyon dahil mahal ko siya that time."
She no longer sees the guy, she reveals. If they do meet, she would treat him as a friend. But she is not considering reconciling with him, should he want to win her back.
“Wala talaga, as in wala akong idea at all.
KIM STARSTRUCK WITH CLAUDINEAster Amoyo ( Journal Online )
Contrary to rumors, the love team of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson isn’t breaking up but is becoming stronger than ever. For the first quarter of 2008, two big projects are already lined up for them. This includes the horror series Maligno on ABS-CBN.
A few days to go and it’s the start of a new season for Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. New faces will be discovered, and new teen stars will be made. But the two biggest products of the show’s last season, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson aren’t worried that they will be steered away from the limelight.
Their tandem has come a long way, and in the two years that they were in the business, Kim and Gerald proved to be worthy of the opportunities that were given to them. Two blockbuster movies, a top-rating teleserye, several TV shows and countless endorsements only prove that the two have their rightful place in the industry.
Recently, they were delighted about being chosen to do the Pinoy version of the hit Koreanovela My Girl, which will be aired on ABS-CBN. “I really had no idea. I just prayed na mabigyan ako ng bagong project. Tapos ayun, nagkatotoo nga!,” Kim exclaimed. The young star wasn’t able to hide her joy that she cried in the press conference where she learned that she was chosen to play the lead role in the show.
Meanwhile, fans will see a different Kim and Gerald in Maligno, for they will be playing mature roles in this mini-series. “It’s quite challenging because the story is different from the light romance that Kim and I played before. It’s horror and is very dark so serious acting is really required of us,” Gerald said.
Kim is nervous and excited to do this project, since she will be working with her idol, Claudine Barretto. “Idol ko po talaga si Ms. Claudine, until now I am still starstruck in her presence. Kapag kinakausap niya ako hindi ako makasagot. But it is my dream to be in a show with her,” she confessed.
Kim and Gerald pursue bolder roles in Maligno
ABS-CBN InteractiveAfter surviving their extraordinary experience on Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson have indeed come a long way as a love team with two block-buster movies, a top-rating teleserye, several TV shows and countless endorsements to boot. Rumors on a possible split-up of their tandem however are making waves as some fans clamor for Sam Milby to become Kim’s leading man on the upcoming remake of the popular Koreanovela, My Girl.
But it seems the ever-loyal Kimerald aficionados will still have their way especially now that their idols are actually busy shooting Maligno, the second sineserye from the Susan Roces Cinema Collection following the success of Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara. The two teen icons are excited as they deliver a more mature portrayal of their characters in this mini-series. "It’s quite challenging because the story is different from the light romance that Kim and I played before. It’s horror and is very dark so serious acting is really required of us," says Gerald. On the other hand, Kim is thrilled to finally work with the highly-acclaimed actress Claudine Barretto. "Idol ko po talaga si Ms. Claudine, until now I’m still starstruck in her presence. Kapag kinakausap niya ko hindi ako makasagot. But it is my dream to be in a show with her."
Catch the hottest teen love team in the country on Sineserye Presents: Maligno showing this April only on ABS-CBN.

Gerald is all grown upABS-CBN Interactive
Fresh from his first trip back to his hometown in Missouri, USA, since the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition ended, Gerald Anderson is definitely one happy camper. "Sobrang sarap. I was happy to see my relatives. I haven't seen them for years. Masaya doon. Probinsya na yun. I visited my old high school. I stayed for a week. I also did a little bit of shopping. Pero mostly sa bahay lang with my parents," he recalls.
Now that he’s back in Manila, the young actor is busy with juicy projects like the upcoming horror series "Maligno" with Claudine Barretto and Diether Ocampo. "It's a little scary doing it because it's horror. But I've become more comfortable on the set na than before when I was just starting out in showbiz," he admits.
Off-cam, Gerald busies himself with sports like basketball and wakeboarding, the latter being a new hobby he took up with his kabarkadas Joross Gamboa and Matt Evans. “I just started getting into it. Joross influenced me to do it in Lago de Oro. It was very hard. Nung first day, hindi ako makatayo. It takes time and patience. If I have time, I really wanna make time for it," he stresses.
Gerald spends the rest of his free time with rumored ladylove Kim Chiu, his constant companion on their days off. "We hang out. Nanunuod kami ng sine. We like watching Star Cinema movies. Ok naman kami. Mas close kami ngayon," he explains.
Gerald is also enjoying his independence with his parents away in the US. Gerald shares how it was living by himself for the very first time. "Okay naman pala. I order out a lot. My favorite is pizza, pasta, and burgers. I don't know how to cook," he shyly admits. The teen actor also shares his plans of going back to school this coming June. "I'm finally going back to school na. Home study kasi ako. Fourth year high school level. But I haven't got any college plans yet. I'm trying to save up for that pa," he says.Despite being the teen idol he is today, Gerald is still the same down-to-earth guy from Gensan that he was when he first started out two years ago. In fact, he is so thankful to his fans that he makes sure to cherish every little thing he receives from them. "I keep everything, lahat-lahat. It’s all around the house. Because I know that after this is all done, it'll be nice to look back. I've gotten pictures, letters, toys, and even a flat-screen TV and a laptop," he admits. The laptop was a gift from a Sana Maulit Muli fan from Canada who flew in with her family just to catch the premiere of his movie with Kim, I’ve Fallen For You.
For the new set of teen housemates arriving this week, Gerald has some words of advice he'd like to share. "Just be yourself. Siguro kasi yun yung ginawa namin. Be nice to others. Kasi it’s not a show where you just act, you shouldn't act. Before I entered the house, I was excited pero kinakabahan din. Sobra-sobra. Mas kinakabahan kesa excited. But after the first two days, okay na. Everything was okay na. Sa tingin ko, ganun din mangyayari for them," he says.
In the meantime, this 19-year-old cutie is having the time of his life. "I'm happy. I've been happy. Ang dami kong ginawa na mga projects din so I'm content with my life right now," he sums it up for us. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

18-year-old Kim Chiu has been chosen to play the female lead in the ABS-CBN Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean novela My Girl
SHE’S UNDENIABLY one of today’s most sought-out teen stars.
But with Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus-and the arrival of a new batch of would-be stars-can Kim Chiu possibly stay on top? The answer is yes as ABS-CBN announced she had been chosen to play the female lead in the network’s upcoming Philippine adaptation of the hit Korean novela My Girl.
Since she had no idea that she was among those being considered for the role, the news took her by surprise-so much so, in fact, that she burst into tears after the announcement had been made. “Are you kidding me?” she asked. The disbelief was evident in the 18-year-old’s voice, which trembled slightly as she added, “This is a joke, right?”
Singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino, who was there to promote the second season of Pinoy Dream Academy, handed Kim a tissue and patted her gently on the back. “Boy, you’re really surprised, huh?” she said, her eyes dancing with amusement. “I just can’t believe it,” Kim said after wiping her eyes and taking a deep breath.
Those words pretty much sum up her feelings towards the way her life has changed after she won Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition in 2006. Since then, she has released an album, starred in two hit movies-First Day High and I’ve Fallen For You-and a wide array of shows, all of which helped her build a strong following.
When asked to name the most memorable show she’s worked on, she said, “Definitely Sana Maulit Muli. No contest. It was my first lead role in a teleserye-and on Primetime Bida, no less!” Sana Maulit Muli, the soap opera she headlined with fellow Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition alumnus Gerald Anderson, was a ratings smash. Thanks to TFC, news of the show’s success reached other Asian countries, which prompted the big bosses of a Taiwanese network to secure the rights to air it in their country.
When told that the show was earning rave reviews from the TV-watching public in Taiwan, Kim was thrilled. “Wow, that’s awesome! I’d like to thank everyone over there for their support. I’ve never been there before, but I guess now would be a good time to visit, right?” she giggles.
It would indeed. Some people have also said that now, with the impending arrival of a new batch of teen housemates, would be a good time for Kim to improve her game- that is, develop new talents or hone the ones she already has-so she can keep her head above water. She agrees, which is why she is equal parts ecstatic and grateful that she has My Girl to look forward to. But that doesn’t mean she sees the new teen housemates as a threat.
Kim Chiu starstruck over Claudine Barretto

ABS-CBN News
Teen star Kim Chiu has nothing but praise for actress Claudine Barretto after working with the latter for their upcoming project with ABS-CBN's soon to be shown horror TV series "Maligno."
Chiu revealed that she was at first hesitant after learning that she would be working on the series with superstars like Barretto.
"Nakakahiya lalo na kay Miss Claudine. Nahihiya kang magkamali kasi di ba big star na baka ano pa ang masabi niya (I felt shy especially with Miss Claudine. I was afraid of what she would say in case I make a mistake)," Kim Chiu told abs-cbnNews.com inside a makeup room at ABS-CBN compound.
Chiu was relieved however, when she began working with Barretto and found out that the latter was such a kind person. She also reported having a good working relationship with director Wenn Deramas and the rest of the cast.
"Maligno" the second installment of the Susan Roces Cinema Collection, a TV series anthology based on Roces' past films. The first TV series based on a Susan Roces film shown on ABS-CBN was the highly successful "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara."
Kim Chiu or Kimberly Sue Yap Chiu in real life rose to fame after she was voted as the Big Winner of the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition.
She and on-screen love team partner Gerald Anderson starred in the hit romantic drama series "Sana Maulit Muli".
Humanda sa pagdating ng 'Maligno'ABS-CBN Global Entertainment
Maligno is an upcoming ABS-CBN sineserye adapted from the movie of the same title originally starred by Susan Roces (for which she won a FAMAS best actress trophy) in 1977.
It’s the second installment of Sineserye Presents: The Susan Roces Cinema Collection after Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara. The cast includes Claudine Barretto as Angela Cortez, Diether Ocampo, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Rafael Rosell, Arlene Tolibas, Deejay Durano, Empoy, Steven Fermo, and Gee-Ann Abrahan under the direction of Wenn Deramas. The adaptation of the 1977 Susan Roces classic is set to premiere very very soon.
Claudine returns to primetime TV with a bang as she agreed to do a very intense rape scene with actor co-star Rafael Rosel. Rafael Rosel plays a demon and the offspring of Claudine and himself will wreak havoc and evil on earth.
Without blinking an eyelash, Maligno is definitely more scarier than 'Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara'.
Filipinos truly love the suspense horror genre and getting spooked or scared in general. And why not, the emotion of fear is a powerful emotion after all. And being scared even for just an hour or so watching this TV series will certainly get the blood pumping.
Handa na ba kayo ulit matakot?
