Tayong Dalawa to be shown in other Asian countries
Nerisa Almo ( PEP ) 06.02.09
ABS-CBN business unit head Deo Endrinal made a special announcement at the press conference cum thanksgiving party of the top-rating show Tayong Dalawa last Friday, May 29.
Before the event has ended, Endrinal told everyone, "We're formatting Tayong Dalawa to be shown in other Asian countries. We always get inquiries from other suppliers all over Asia and we're in the process of subtitling already and preparing for the electronic kit for distribution—either as a franchise or as a format."
This is not the first time for an ABS-CBN program to be distributed in other countries. Other soap opera such as Pangako Sa'yo, Sana'y Wala nang Wakas, and Sana Maulit Muli were also shown in other countries all over Asia.
Tayong Dalawa director Ruel Bayani is proud that their show will soon be seen outside the country.
"Well, that is an achievement," he stated. "For them to believe na the way binili Meteor Garden, o kaya iyung My Girl, or Only You that they can buy Tayong Dalawa and let their actors portray the characters, napakalaking achievement no'n.
"Sinasabi lang nito na we're world class, na kaya nating sumabay, tumapat, na kaya nating gumawa ng isang programa na may kalidad na puwedeng panuorin ng isang global audience dahil ang mga tema naman ay universal."
The director added that the theme of Tayong Dalawa was something that anyone can relate to. "Ito naman ay tungkol sa pagkakapamilya, pag-ibig, sa pagkakaibigan. Ito ay mga temang pwedeng magustuhan o pwedeng kagiliwan ng audiences all over the world. So, when the fact that we have universal themes, our shows can be watched by different audiences."
THE SHOW CONTINUES. Many think that the story of Tayong Dalawa is about to end. But Endrinal already said during the press conference, "Mahaba-haba pa po ang tatakbuhin ng Tayong Dalawa."
However, when Direk Ruel was asked about what the viewers could expect in the succeeding episodes, he answered hesitantly, "We're not allowed to say kung anong nangyayari."
Then, he added, "But one thing's for sure, as early as last month pa, sinasabi na ng mga tao na, ‘Patapos na ba?' Iyon ang testament kung paano ang isang istorya is sustaining the interest and keeping the people at the edge of the seat. Kasi, naniniwala sila na patapos na, e, hindi pa. Iyon ang design ng isang magandang script that the story tellers structure the story in such a way na feeling mo, ‘Bakit, ending na ba ‘to?,' pero hindi pa naman."
He just assured the viewers, "The story is rich, it's complex. The characters are richly textured and hindi naman siguro kami magpe-presscon at mag-aabala ng ganito [hold a thanksgiving party] kung matatapos na pala 'to two weeks from now. So ibig sabihin kaya naming humarap sa inyo at sabihing mahaba pa 'tong programa dahil mahaba pa siya talaga."
it's cool na hindi pa patapos ang tayong dalawa. pero sana wag patagalin ng patagalin. kasi baka ma bore yung mga viewers. hope the show doesnt get ruined.
KG forever. <3
I'm bored to be honest lang, the story for me is not realistic. A lot of twist that did not coincide with the scenes. Full of anger, vengeance, hatred, crying no aura of happiness at all. I could not imagine the two writers are inspired by such feelings. Can't they not see harmonious relationship in a family? I won't agree that we Filipinos are like that. No matter how poor we are family is a family. Definitely, Tayong Dalawa for me has no moral values to the viewers. Sorry to say...
You are right! I believed that the writer and the director has no moral values at all! It sucks!!! How can you present this teserye to other nations displaying violence within the family. Is that the way we behave as Filipinos! nakakahiya ang soap na ito. Basta ako hindi na ako manonood. Look at Kim, she's so skinny, dahil sigoro sa kunsimisyon coz she's emotional at maybe dinibdib niya ang mga scenes!!! please ABS!!! wake up!!!!!!
