"Tayong Dalawa" will air on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida
Jocelyn Dimaculangan ( PEP ) 04..09
There are two David Garcias but only one Audrey.
Jake Cuenca and Gerald Anderson are half-brothers who will be fighting for the affection of the same girl, to be played by Kim Chiu. Jake and Gerald endured intense training at the Philippine Military Academy in Baguio as they give life to their roles as PMA cadets in this ABS-CBN show.
Their movements are limited because the uniform that PMA cadets wear are considered sacred. In fact, the uniforms should be worn properly and should free from wrinkles. The cadets are also forbidden to shout or crack jokes while wearing it. "Sobrang sikip pero kailangan," says Gerald when asked to descibe how he felt while wearing the uniform of a PMA cadet.
Jake and Gerald had a hard time in some of the scenes because they both didn't have any CAT experience. However, they were able to pull the scenes off through the help of real PMA officials.
David Garcia, who goes by the nickname JR (played by Gerald), is a young man who grew up in the slums with his mother (portrayed by Cherry Pie Picache). He grew up without knowing the identity of his father, a military man who remarried and bore another son also named David (Jake).
In preparation for his role, Gerald mingled with families in the Baseco, Tondo compound to have a feel of his character. "Sobrang na-excite talaga ako kasi bagong challenge na naman ito for me."
As for Kim, she was given her own nutritionist and dietitian to keep her healthy as she shot this TV series. "Sa wakas, hindi naman ako masyadong poor dito. May kaya na kami kahit papaano."
Tayong Dalawa also stars veteran actors and actresses such as Helen Gamboa, Anita Linda, Gina PareƱo, Cherry Pie Picache, and Agot Isidro. The upcoming TV show also includes Mylene Dizon, Coco Martin, Spanky Manikan, Jiro Manio, Miguel Faustmann, Baron Geisler, and Alessandra de Rossi.
This new primetime show will air on ABS-CBN starting January 19, 2009.
