Kim-Gerald romance, only for reel?

For PBB Teen sensation Kim Chiu there is no romantic relationship to admit between her and love team partner Gerald Anderson.

For their first film under Star Cinema entitled "I’ve Fallen For You" they were even asked to be truthful about their "real" relationship.

"Ano naman ang aaminin namin kung wala. Ayaw ko namang ipilit ang sarili ko kay Gerald kung wala naman. Pangit naman yun," Kim quipped. "Makakahintay naman ang love sa tamang panahon and tamang oras."

It has been reported that Kim had allegedly her first boyfriend when she was only 14 years old and the affair lasted only for 10 months. She said that her older Chinese boyfriend didn’t have time for her because he was addicted to computer games. And the only time they were supposed to see each other was during school days. But because of online computer games, she said he always cut classes. So what’s keeping her from saying yes to Gerald’s "love?"

"Natatakot po akong masaktan ulit," she smiled.

As for Gerald, he said that Kim knows his intention and that he is ready to have a girlfriend. But he still respects Kim if she doesn’t want a serious romantic relationship. He doesn’t even mind if it would take time before they really become an item.

"If ever she’ll be my fourth because I only had three girlfriends. Ako yung tipong kapag girlfriend ko siya lang talaga," he remarked.

But is Kim enjoying her teenage life and popularity by "collecting" first and then "selecting later?

Laughing, Kim commented, "No one is courting me. Saka masama po yun kapag collect ka ng collect before select baka yung maging boyfriend mo mag collect din. Babalik lang sa yo yun kapag gagawin ninyo yun."

Directed by Lino Cayetano, "I’ve Fallen For You" is a teenage movie with substance according to Star Cinema insiders. It tackles the challenges and woes that two teenagers face in their lives as they find out they’re slowly falling in love with each other.

Written by Mel del Rosario, "I’ve Fallen In Love" is also proof to the successful journey of Kim and Gerald from their "PBB Teen Edition" fame to moviestars. The movie is their first as the lead actors though they’ve been introduced in the film "First Day High" with Maja Salvador and Jason Abalos. It will open on September 26 nationwide with premieres on Sept. 25 in Manila and Sept. 24 in Cebu .

A film aptly fitting the youths of today, why should they spend their money on the movie than their mobile phones’ loads?

Gerald answered, "I came from a broken family. In this film they will see how a broken family becomes whole again...maraming makaka-relate dito."

As for Kim, she opined, "Hinusayan talaga ang pag-arte para lalong maintindihan ng mga tao ang takbo ng kuwento. This is not just about a teenage love story but the whole family love story. So sangkot ang mga magulang namin at kami saka buhay ng isang working student. They will learn a lot not only is it for the youth pero pati sa mga matatanda."

Probably what their fans would like to see would be their kissing scenes to which both agreed to be conscious in doing. Their "smack" scene took three takes because different angles were needed. Bottomline, for them the scenes that would surely add "kilig" to their movie.

They expressed, "Ang hirap gawin kasi ang daming tao. Meron pang mga lightsmen saka yung mga tao sa location. Mabilis naman nakunan."

For their most "kilig" moments, Gerald revealed that it was when Kim gave him a Playstation Portable or PSP for his birthday which he describe to be very thoughtful and touching. While Kim’s was when Gerald gave her a dinner on his place’s rooftop on her birthday!

As the title of their favorite song goes, Kim and Gerald’s relationship is "No Ordinary Love!"

I’ve Fallen For You is Star Cinema’s latest youth-oriented movie which stars Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. The movie marks the teen stars’ first anniversary in showbiz and the directorial debut of Lino Cayetano for the big screen.

Kim and Gerald came from the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition where they successfully emerged as the big winner and third placer, respectively. They are considered one of the country’s hottest loveteams today. The young pair is called Kimerald by their adoring fans. Kim and Gerald have appeared in the film First Day High (also under Star Cinema) and TV shows like Aalog-Alog, Sana Maulit Muli and Gokada Go!

I’ve Fallen For You is about two teenagers’ budding romance and how it affects their families and important decisions in life. They must face the greatest challenge of their young love after discovering their own families’ past. The scenic highlands of Tagaytay and Antipolo make a picture perfect setting for the love story. The film also stars Albert Martinez, Chin-Chin Gutierrez and Lotlot de Leon.

Kim, Gerald, direk Lino and Star Cinema are satisfied on how they were able to show both the romantic elements and family values in I’ve Fallen For You. The two young stars are excited about the film. “We’re very proud of what we did in I’ve Fallen For You. Direk Lino is such a good director kasi nailabas niya po ang emotions na hindi ko akalaing kaya ko palang ilabas. I am happy because we have something new to offer to moviegoers,” says Kim.

“Parents will definitely enjoy this movie not just because of the viewing experience but also because their kids will learn valuable lessons from the story. We learned a lot from our characters and we thank Star Cinema for giving us a beautiful material,” Gerald says.

Everybody is talking about how passionate and serious direk Lino has worked on his film debut. Everybody has only good words about the young director. “We are very happy that direk Lino came on board for this project. He is very meticulous, hardworking, and it showed in this film,” says producer Marizel Samson-Martinez.

Screenwriter Mel Mendoza-del Rosario adds, “This is definitely a dream come true for Lino. He made his first narrative/drama with Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) and for me it’s like seeing him graduate to another level. I am not just proud of the hard work, passion and dedication he has devoted to his first film but I am grateful to God because this is an answered prayer for us.”

The movie is very close to direk Lino’s heart since he believes in the importance of family values. “Sana noon pa ako gumawa ng pelikula para napanood ng Daddy ko,” says the promising director. Direk Lino was the liver donor of his ailing father, former Sen. Renato Cayetano, who died of cancer in 2003.

Direk Lino studied Film & Audiovisual Communication in UP Diliman and attended New York University for a post degree in film. He has directed ABS-CBN’s teleseryes Calla Lily and Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. With his political lineage, it is inevitable that direk Lino is often asked why he chose a different field unlike his older siblings who are politicians. He always says that he loves what he does in the artistic media.

I’ve Fallen For You opens Sept. 26 in theaters nationwide.

Nagkaaminan sina Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson sa presscon ng "I’ve Fallen For You."

It’s something deeper and he has fallen for her.

"Who knows, pag matagal, baka maging forever pa ‘yung relasyon namin," ani Kim.

Ayaw niya ng collect and select sa suitors. Masama raw ‘yon.

Takot daw siyang masaktan uli. She was 14 years old noong una siyang nagka-boyfriend na isang Chinese rin. Ten months lang tumagal ang kanilang relasyon.

They broke up dahil wala itong time for her at mas inuuna pa ang pag-lalaro ng computer, ayon kay Kim.
