Kimerald’s split is dead!

Star Cinema got approval from the 2009 MMFF Executive Committee to replace its official entry “Ikaw na Nga” with “I Love You, Goodbye.”

STIR broke the news that Kris Aquino backed out of “Ikaw Na Nga” because of ex-pres. Cory Aquino’s deteriorating health condition. Star Cinema Head Malou Santos wanted to replace Kris with Maricel Soriano. The entry’s casting should have been headlined by Maricel with Ai Ai delas Alas (replacing Eugene Domingo) and Kim Chiu with Gerald Anderson doing a cameo role. This should have prevented Kimerald from splitting.

But Maricel is not interested to do the movie based on the approved script. So Star Cinema proposed to change it with “I Love You, Goodbye,” an Angelica Panganiban, Derek Ramsay and Gabby Concepcion starrer to be directed by Laurice Guillen. As it has been approved, Kimerald is entirely out of the project. This stops the issue of their separation altogether, at least, for the time being.

And here’s the even the better buzz: Star Cinema’s preparing a movie for Kimerald to be shot when “Tayong Dalawa” wraps up!
