Teen stars Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson mark their first anniversary in show business by topbilling their first starring movie I've Fallen For You, which is now in production under Star Cinema. This also marks the directorial debut of Lino Cayetano for the big screen.

The love team of Kim and Gerald—often referred to as Kimerald—will be tested in this romantic comedy flick that tackles learning to deal with your family's past.

Lino previously co-directed the ABS-CBN soaps Mga Anghel na Walang Langit and Calla Lily. He also dabbles in music video directing, the most recent of which is Toni Gonzaga's Catch Me I'm Fallin'.

When asked to describe Kim and Gerald on the set of their movie, Direk Lino told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Sweet sila sa isa't isa. Sweet sila sa amin and ang babait nilang tao. Sila 'yung taong kahit hindi sila artista magugustuhan mo sila. Masaya silang kasama. Sila 'yung tipong masarap kasama sa set, nakikipag-biruan sa lahat ng tao. Magaan kasama."

The director believes that Kim and Gerald both have the capacity to stay long in showbiz. "Kasi matalino silang mga bata, bright 'yung future nila. Kung, para sa akin, kung gusto nilang mag-stay long? Kayang-kaya nila. Pero kung hindi man, sila rin 'yung tipo ng tao na kaya lahat, e, pwedeng gawin sa buhay. ‘Yan ang matatalino, mababait.

"But it terms of kung kaya ba nilang tumagal? Oo, because I think they are very talented. More than talented dahil nirerespeto nila 'yung propesyon. Nirerespeto nila, meaning walang tigil silang nag-aaral, 'yung walang tigil sila sa intensyon nilang gumaling."

When asked about the memorable moments that they had while shooting I've Fallen For You in Sta. Rosa, Tagaytay, Direk Lino narrates a heartwarming incident that took place on the set.

"Ang pinakamasaya sa amin is nung nagba-bike sila...Marami silang eksenang nagbibisikleta and enjoy na enjoy 'yung dalawa. Hindi pa kami naka-set up nakikita na namin na nagba-bike sila. Isang beses pagtingin namin ang layo na nila, e, silang dalawa lang. Tuwang tuwa sila.

"Sobra nilang busy eh, so siguro na-e-enjoy nila 'yung moment nila minsan na open field—silang dalawa lang nagbi-bisikleta, so habang nagse-set up pa kami pagtingin na lang namin napakalayo na nila. Mga isang kilometro ang layo. Kinunan na rin namin kasi ang cute nilang tignan, silang dalawa lang nag-e-enjoy," recalls Direk Lino.

I've Fallen For You is about a boy and a girl who discover that they both have a lot of things in common. They share the same name—"Alex Reyes"—and even the same birthday. However, they have totally opposite personalities.

Alex Boy (Gerald) returns to the Philippines from Singapore with his mom, Tessa (Chin-Chin Gutierrez). His father's job in a multinational company forces his family to live in various locations, but no place to really call home. Alex Boy can't seem to focus on anything; he easily starts a hobby but never really finishes it. With the news of his parents' breakup, Alex Boy has to do everything to achieve what he has always wanted—to live in one place with his family intact.

Alex Girl (Kim) has set goals for herself and her family. She has to pass the entrance exam at the State University and get a good job to help her family. The inn-restaurant her family owns isn't doing well and it doesn't help that her parents, Jonathan (Albert Martinez) and Vangie (Lotlot de Leon), are always fighting. She has no time for anything but to find ways to earn. She believes that money would bring peace to her family.

Alex Boy finds in Alex Girl the perfect partner for a tandem cycling competition he wants to join. In desperate need of funding for her studies, the prize of P50,000 convinces Alex Girl to team up with her annoying namesake. Even though Alex Girl is talented, she lacks the proper techniques needed to win. As Alex Boy teaches her the techniques she needs, he learns from this driven girl the virtue of responsibility. In turn, Alex Boy makes Alex Girl see what she misses in her own life—having fun.

Later on, they discover the real reason for their similarities, and the discovery will put a strain on their budding romance. As they decide to nurture their young love, fate challenges them to leap over the greatest challenge their love story would ever face—the story of their own families' past.

I've Fallen For You is coming soon in theaters nationwide.
