Kim and Angelica poised for film festival success

MANILA - Actresses Kim Chiu and Angelica Panganiban shared their excitement with their upcoming film titled "I Love You, Goodbye."

Report said that the film will be Star cinema's official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Panganiban said she is nervous about doing the project precisely because of this fact.

"Noong binigay sa akin itong project na ito ay kabadong kabado na ako. What more pa na ipanlalaban siya sa Manila Film Fest? Talagang hindi ko na maintindihan ang kabang nararamdaman ko. Nakaka-excite, nakaka-pressure, nakaka-flatter, nakakatuwa. Halo-halong emotions ang nararamdaman [ko]," Pangiban said.

Panganiban, who already did a movie for the MMFF in the previous years, will be playing a lead role this time.

"Ito ang third movie ko for the Film Fest. Ngayon lang ako magkakaroon ng movie sa Film Fest na ako ang magiging lead so ibang pressure ang nararamdaman ko lalo," Panganiban said.

Chiu, meanwhile, said she is also nervous about starring in her first drama movie. However, the "Tayong Dalawa" star said she is gearing up to give the film her best, even if she doesn't get any film festival awards.

"Masaya na kinakabahan kasi first film entry under Star Cinema ‘yong movie na ito, kaya super happy ako. Sobrang kakaiba, kaya kailangang i-todo [ang acting]. Sa lahat naman ng projects ay may pressure talaga. Syempre ang kasama ko dito hindi basta basta, ang gagaling galing na sila Angelica at Mr. Gabby Concepcion kaya 'yon, double effort ang gagawin ko dito," she said.

"Ako gagawin ko lang ang pinaka-best ko kung ano ang kaya ko yon ang ilalabas ko dito. Basta mapasaya ko lang ang tao. Makuha ko lang ang role na ito ay award na sa akin ‘yon," she added.

Aside from Panganiban and Chiu, the movie will also star actors Derek Ramsay and Gabby Concepcion. The film will be director Laurice Guillen's comeback debut. SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon
