Gerald Anderson plays a military man in ‘Tayong Dalawa’

After going for the scruffy emo look in Your Song Presents: My Only Hope, Gerald Anderson cleans up for his new role as a military man in the upcoming teleserye Tayong Dalawa. At the pictorial for the said series, Gerald was even in a military uniform with a garrison cap, blue top, and black trousers.

“Dito sa Tayong Dalawa, ako si David Garcia. Anak ako ng isang Pinoy at isang foreigner na hindi ko pa nakikilala. Ngayon ‘yung mga nakakakita sa akin sa labas hindi na matatakot kasi wala na akong balbas. Mga kakilala ko [nga eh] nag-tetext na masaya na sila dahil finally nag-shave na ‘ko (laughs). First time ko mag-sundalo so excited ako. Jologs ako dito kasi ‘yung character ko lumaki siya sa squatters. Ibang iba ‘yung role kasi mahirap ako dito, yung mga damit ko tipong may butas at sira sira,”loch Gerald gladly shared with ABS-CBN.com.

In this year alone, Gerald and constant onscreen partner Kim Chiu have starred in a three TV series. They played lovers torn apart by a demonic cult in the horrorserye Maligno. Then in My Girl, a Filipino adaptation of a hit Koreanovela, Gerald was the company president who fell in love with a poor tour guide, played by Kim, whom he later hires to pretend to be his missing cousin. The duo’s ongoing series, Your Song Presents: My Only Hope where they play mismatched lovers, is currently enjoying good ratings.

With the success of their shows, the Kim-Gerald love team definitely holds one of the biggest fan bases. Gerald has said that given their legions of followers, he hopes Tayong Dalawa will equal if not surpass the success of My Girl and My Only Hope. “Alam kong marami nang nag-aabang sa amin ni Kim sa primetime. Sana maging top-rating din itong Tayong Dalawa. Gagawin namin ang lahat para sa viewers, promise namin na magugustuhan niyo ‘to. Kakaibang love triangle ang makikita niyo compared sa My Girl at sa My Only Hope. Dun kasi medyo teenage love pa ang story. Here in Tayong Dalawa more on the young adult.”
