Gerald checks out of hospital, says Kim helping him get well

Young actor Gerald Anderson is recovering from a nasty bout with recurring fever since Sunday. He denied reports that he was rushed to the hospital last week for dengue fever.

In an interview, the young actor confirmed that it was true that he had a recurrent fever since Sunday, June 1 but he pushed himself to work on the taping for "My Girl” the following day. He was even able to perform on the Big Night of PBB last Saturday, June 7.

Since he wasn't fully recovered yet, he suffered a relapse and had to be rushed to San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pasay.

Anderson is now taking things easy, doing his work slowly but surely. He said that his on-screen partner Kim Chui is a big help in his getting well again.

Gerald and Kim are now busy taping for “My Girl”. Gerald is playing the role of Julian, a rich, well-educated and serious type of guy who is the heir to a business empire.

Gerald's character meets Kim's character Jasmine, who is asked by Julian to pose as his long-lost cousin in order to fulfill the last wishes of his grandfather, who is already ailing and near death.

Anderson started his career on ABS-CBN's reality show, "Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition" last April, 2006.

Chiu and Anderson starred in their very first television series "Sana Maulit Muli" and starred in a hit movie together entitled "I've Fallen for You."

Kimerald strikes back

The tandem of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, widely known among their fans simply as Kimerald, is still hot.

Well, if we base it on how My Girl has been faring in the ratings since its premiere on May 26, we can safely assume that the former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition housemates have established their on-screen partnership as one of the most successful the Kapamilya network has launched. After Kim won the grand prize in the reality TV show’s edition for teeners, she was tapped to play a dramatic role in the soap Sana Maulit Muli with runner-up Gerald Anderson.

It was a shot in the dark for the network, as they had thus far not validated if either of the two had a solid fan base for them to merit a time slot on TV’s primetime. Much to the chagrin of the executives, the Bokbok-Poknat characters became household names in only a few weeks after Sana Maulit Muli premiered.

Now, the tandem is making a lot of people stay awake on weeknights as Kim and Gerald play an unlikely couple in the newest soap sensation to hit the boob tube, My Girl.

Everyone is talking about Kim being perfect for the role of Jasmine, a poor yet courageous, brave and industrious girl. Since she travels to different places with her father, Jasmine is street smart, charming and witty. She is also a fighter and uses her favorite line “Tira-tira!” when provoked. Because of a unique situation, she meets Julian (Gerald Anderson) and in a very funny circumstance that leads to the two going through a charade.

Gerald as Julian, the rich, well-educated and serious heir to a very big business company, has to grow up quicker than he should be in order for him to play the role with conviction and be credible as a 21-year-old. (The actor is only 19 when he was offered the role.)

Meron na talagang My Girl fever. Marami kaming nakausap na aliw na aliw sa tandem nina Gerald Anderson at Kim Chiu na gumaganap bilang Julian at Jasmine.

Naaaliw ang lahat sa pagma-Mandarin ni Kim at nabibighani naman ang iba sa kaguwapuhan ni Gerald. Tuwing may eksena ang dalawa, kilig na kilig daw sila.

Now that the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus has come to an end, it is expected that the Big Four, and even the evictees, will most likely enter showbiz. PBB’s first Teen Big winner Kim Chiu has some words of wisdom for them in their new “task” as ex-housemates.

“Huwag magreklamo. Enjoy lang nila kung ano ang ibibigay sa kanila,” begins the chinita star of My Girl. Kim herself admits that showbiz is tough but cherishes every minute of her stay in the business. “Tsaka dapat ibigay nila yung best nila para may kasunod pa ang projects nila,” she adds.

Kim also advised the aspiring teens to be prepared when it comes to intrigues. “Siyempre sa una magugulat sila. Gaya ko nung una, nagulat ako. Kinumpara ako kay Sandara (Park). Sumagot ka lang (sa mga tanong) kung ano ang nasa isip mo. Huwag kang magkukunwari.”

Halata raw ang pagkabalisa ni Kim Chiu sa taping ng My Girl dahil isinugod sa ospital ang leading man at ka-loveteam niyang si Gerald Anderson.

Napalagay lang daw ang PBB Teen Edition winner nang malamang overfatigue at hindi dengue ang sanhi ng panghihina ni Gerald.

Dahil sa labis na pag-aalala ni Kim, lalo tuloy naniwala ang mga nakapaligid sa taping na may special ngang namamagitan sa kanila ng ka-loveteam.

Pero sana, kapag nabasa niya ito’y hindi na umiyak si Kim.

Gerald, bumigay na rin!

Bumigay ang katawan at nilagnat si Gerald Anderson dahil sa sobrang pagod sa set ng “My Girl” sa San Juan de Dios Hospital noong Lunes, June 2. Mabuti na lang at sa ospital ang eksena ni Gerald that day kaya nabigyan agad siya ng first aid at pinainom ng gamot.

Worried na naman siyempre ang kalabtim ni Gerald na si Kim Chui at ‘di mapakali sa pagti-taping. Gusto niya kasing sumunod sa nilipatang ospital ni Gerald. Naibsan lang ang pag-aalala ni Kim nang tiyakin sa kanya ng staff ng “My Girl” na she will be informed every now and then sa kalagayan ni Gerald.

That same day, nakuha rin agad ang results ng test ni Gerald. Negative ang aktor sa UTI at dengue. Nakahinga nang maluwag ang mga handlers ni Gerald sa magandang resulta ng tests nito. Hopefully ay makapag-report na si Gerald sa set ng “My Girl.” Patuloy na tumataas ang viewership ng number one primetime show ng ABS-CBN, ang “My Girl.”

Sa Sabado, Gerald and Kim will play big part sa Big Night ng Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus na gaganapin sa Araneta Coliseum. Isang bonggang production number ang gagawin nila ni Kim at ng iba pang cast. Sina Kim at Gerald ang top winners ng unang PBB Teen Edition.
